Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition Launches on Consoles for the First Time

Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition is finally making its debut on consoles, releasing on July 15 for the first time ever.

This highly anticipated edition, developed by Aspyr, is available for both PC and major consoles, marking a historic moment for Neverwinter Nights 2 fans. Packed with all the DLCs, revamped visuals, new console-friendly controls, and support for Steam Workshop, the Enhanced Edition keeps the core elements of the original game intact while offering new enhancements.

The game introduces full crossplay, allowing players on Steam, GOG, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S to team up in multiplayer mode, supporting up to four players. If you’re looking to get more than just Neverwinter Nights 2, there’s also a bundle available, which includes both Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition and Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition, launching on the same date.

Originally released in 2006, Neverwinter Nights 2 was developed by Obsidian Entertainment as the sequel to BioWare’s original Neverwinter Nights. Set in the famous Forgotten Realms campaign setting, the game builds on the popular Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 edition rules. Players take on the role of a hero navigating through the vibrant city of Neverwinter and its surrounding areas.

Fans of the original will find much to love in this enhanced edition, with improved visuals and gameplay mechanics. As we mentioned in our 2006 review, ‘Anyone looking for a lengthy, complex, and engaging single-player RPG experience should look no further than Neverwinter Nights 2.’ With a rich storyline, fully voiced dialogues, an epic soundtrack, and tactical combat, this game offers a world of adventure that will keep you hooked for hours.
