The much-anticipated Ninja Gaiden 4, developed by Team NINJA and PlatinumGames, is set to launch this October, bringing a fresh chapter to the iconic action series. Announced earlier this year, this installment is set for release on October 21st, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. 
The latest trailer, unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase, delivers a taste of the intense, fast-paced combat fans have come to love.
In addition to the trailer, a post on the official Xbox website provided more details about what players can expect. The game will feature a brand-new protagonist, Yakumo, who will step into the shoes of a seasoned warrior capable of performing signature moves from the Ninja Gaiden legacy, such as the Flying Swallow and Izuna Drop. These moves not only pay homage to the series’ rich history but also promise to deliver a deep and engaging combat experience that will resonate with both newcomers and long-time fans.
Fans of the series have already had a taste of the evolution of the franchise, thanks to the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black earlier this year. This remaster, powered by Unreal Engine 5, brought the second entry in the series into the modern era with improved visuals, smoother performance, and a revamped experience that balances the original Xbox 360 version and the later Sigma release. Despite some minor performance issues, it remains one of the most intense and rewarding action games available.
