Nothing Phone (3) Launches in India with Bigger Battery and Mixed Reactions

The Nothing Phone (3) has officially launched in India, bringing some interesting upgrades compared to its predecessor. While the global version packs a 5,150mAh battery with silicon-carbon anode technology-a notable boost from the Phone (2)’s 4,700mAh-the Indian variant goes a step further with a larger 5,500mAh cell, also using the same advanced silicon-carbon tech.

Charging speeds remain consistent with 65W wired and 15W wireless options.

On pricing, the Phone (3) is set at ₹79,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, while the top-tier 16GB/512GB variant goes for ₹89,999. Pre-orders kick off on July 4, with sales starting July 15 via the official Nothing website and selected retailers.

Despite the improvements under the hood, the design has stirred mixed reactions. Many longtime fans miss the more distinctive aesthetics of the Phone (1) and (2), feeling the new model lacks that iconic charm. Additionally, the pricing has raised eyebrows, especially when compared with competitors like the IQOO 13, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and Vivo X200 Pro, which offer faster chips, better speakers, and quicker charging at lower or similar price points.

Still, Nothing Phone (3) holds appeal with its silicon-carbon battery technology-a rarity in the market-and the balance of features like telephoto camera and 120Hz display. But questions remain if these upgrades justify the premium in a fiercely competitive market where flagship alternatives are abundant.

We had a chance to get hands-on with the device after its global launch, so check out our full impressions for more details.
