Steam’s latest Hardware Survey has unveiled that the entire NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series is now making waves, showcasing impressive growth in market share since its release earlier this year. Though technically launched in late January, the RTX 50 GPUs were widely available by February, and their presence has been steadily increasing since. The family first appeared in the Steam Hardware Survey in May, and now, with the release of the June 2025 survey, almost the entire series is visible. The notable exception is the RTX 5050, which is set to launch later this month.
Among the top GPUs in the market, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 3060 continue to hold the top spots, with the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU securing a 4.99% share, indicating its popularity in the laptop gaming scene, especially with budget-friendly options. However, the real star of the survey is the RTX 50 series, with the GeForce RTX 5070 leading the charge. This GPU has gained 0.99% market share in just three months, a significant +0.28% increase from the previous month, suggesting that gamers are increasingly opting for this card in their gaming PCs.
The RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5060, and RTX 5090 follow suit, each making incremental gains since their respective debuts. The following are the current and starting share percentages for these GPUs, showcasing their rapid growth:
- GeForce RTX 5070: 0.99% (from 0.38% in April)
- GeForce RTX 5080: 0.57% (from 0.20% in March)
- GeForce RTX 5070 Ti: 0.55% (from 0.28% in April)
- GeForce RTX 5060 Ti: 0.41% (from 0.21% in May)
- GeForce RTX 5060: 0.34%
- GeForce RTX 5090: 0.19%
Interestingly, the AMD Radeon RX 9000 series, which is based on the RDNA 4 architecture, hasn’t yet appeared in Steam’s hardware survey. This isn’t necessarily a sign that gamers aren’t buying them, but rather that they haven’t hit the market in large enough quantities to show up in the results. Similarly, Intel’s Arc B-series GPUs remain absent, despite strong market reports showing NVIDIA’s dominance with over 90% market share. Meanwhile, on the CPU side, AMD is steadily increasing its share, now sitting at 39.65%, while Intel holds the majority at 60.27%. Despite some setbacks with Intel’s 13th/14th Gen CPUs and weak gaming performance from their Arrow Lake architecture, AMD’s Ryzen continues to perform well and gain traction in the market.
