Initially launched in China, this GPU is now ready to hit global markets, with laptop manufacturers like Mechrevo and ASUS leading the charge with their RTX 5050-powered models.

Sporting the GB207 die, the RTX 5050 packs a robust 2560 CUDA cores, which means there is no reduction in the shader count compared to the desktop version. This helps the mobile variant offer performance that closely matches its desktop counterpart, assuming other specs remain similar. It also features 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, further confirming earlier reports

. While the desktop model was rumored to come with GDDR6 memory, it’s safe to assume that GDDR7 will be the standard for both variants.

The memory interface of the RTX 5050 is 128-bit, which means the memory bandwidth is on par with the RTX 5060 mobile GPU, clocking in at a solid 384 GB/s. The GPU’s power consumption is rated at 115W, matching that of the RTX 5060, contrary to earlier predictions that pegged it at 100W.

Mechrevo’s Kuangshi X and ASUS’s TianXuan 6 laptops are among the first to feature this GPU, with prices starting at around 6559 Yuan (US$913). Despite being slightly more affordable than the RTX 5060 models, the difference is minimal, with only a $30–40 price gap.

In terms of raw performance, the RTX 5050 clearly outperforms the RTX 4050.

In Time Spy, the RTX 5050 scored 10,269 points, a notable 9% higher than the RTX 4050, but still about 18% slower than the RTX 5060. In other benchmarks like Firestrike Extreme and Port Royal, the RTX 5050 lags behind the 5060 but still delivers a significant generational gain, with a 27% improvement over the RTX 4050 in Port Royal.

The desktop variant of the RTX 5050 is expected to release on July 1, slightly ahead of initial projections. This GPU will likely mark the end of the first RTX 50 series batch, with NVIDIA set to introduce the Super variants shortly after.
