Oakley Meta HSTN: The Smart Glasses with 3K Video and 8-Hour Battery

Meta has just revealed its latest AR innovation, the Oakley Meta HSTN, bringing some noteworthy upgrades to the world of smart glasses. Designed with athletes in mind, these glasses take the AR experience up a notch, offering an impressive 3K video recording feature and a battery life that’s double that of its predecessor, the Ray-Ban Meta.

The Oakley Meta HSTN is geared towards hands-free usage, making it easier than ever to capture your moments on the go.

One of the standout features is the 3K video resolution, which surpasses the original Ray-Ban Meta’s 1080p video capture. This, combined with 5 built-in microphones for clear voice pickup and Bluetooth speakers for immersive audio, ensures you’re getting both high-quality visuals and sound. The glasses are powered by Meta AI, allowing you to control recordings, music, calls, messages, and general inquiries with ease. And yes, you can do all of this without lifting a finger!

There’s also a practical design element with an integrated LED light on the right corner to notify others that you’re recording, ensuring you stay on the right side of privacy. For user control, the right temple has a touchpad, and there’s a physical capture button on top for those moments when you just want to snap a quick picture or start recording.

In terms of durability, Oakley Meta HSTN comes with an IPX4 water resistance rating, so you won’t have to worry about a little rain while using them. Battery life is another major improvement-Meta claims up to 8 hours of use, which is double that of the Ray-Ban Meta. With the included charging/carrying case, you can extend your usage time to a whopping 48 hours. Plus, a quick 20-minute charge will give you 50% battery back, making sure you’re always ready to go.

For those managing their settings, photos, and videos, the Meta AI iOS/Android app serves as the control hub. As for style, Oakley Meta HSTN comes in four colors: Warm Grey, Black, Brown Smoke, and Clear, with five lens combinations to choose from. And yes, these glasses are compatible with prescription lenses.

If you’re interested, the limited edition Oakley Meta HSTN will be available for pre-order starting July 11, priced at $499. Later this summer, Meta plans to expand the lineup with more Oakley smart glasses, priced at $399.
