The third One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 has rolled out, bringing some interesting tweaks and features, including AI-powered enhancements to Samsung’s Now Brief.
While new beta releases generally focus on minor adjustments, this update adds some fun AI tricks that users are likely to enjoy.
Now Brief, which offers summaries of important information throughout the day, now includes an AI feature that can notify you about upcoming events like birthdays. What’s more, it will allow you to send an AI-generated birthday card with just a couple of taps. When you tap on the birthday notification, a pop-up window will let you customize the card’s content and choose from different art styles. It’s a quirky addition that can be useful, especially for those who want to send a quick, thoughtful card but don’t want to spend time designing one.
In addition to the birthday card feature, One UI 8 Beta 3 introduces several other enhancements to Now Brief, including reminders for parking spots, smart home alerts, and event notifications. The update also seems to be running smoothly with very few bugs reported, promising an almost flawless user experience so far.
While Samsung’s One UI 8 may not bring groundbreaking changes like One UI 7 did, it’s focusing on refining existing features and adding smaller, yet useful functionalities. With stable versions likely coming soon, One UI 8 will be available on more devices, including the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, according to rumors.
On the other hand, Apple has taken a different approach with the announcement of iOS 26, which focuses on a full OS redesign rather than AI advancements. While both companies are bringing exciting new features to their operating systems, it will be interesting to see how each platform competes in the coming months.
Personally, while I appreciate the AI birthday card feature, I’d prefer to give personalized messages or make a call to close friends. However, for acquaintances, I think it’s a fun and quick way to send a birthday wish. It’s definitely a nice touch from Samsung’s AI integration.
