OnePlus is reportedly gearing up to launch the Nord 5 and Nord CE5 on July 8, according to a tipster on X. The Nord 5 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Nord 4, which was launched in mid-July last year. Meanwhile, the Nord CE5 will succeed the Nord CE4, which debuted in April 2024.
Leaked specs suggest the Nord 5 will feature a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400e SoC and include a 50 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 16 MP selfie camera. The device will also pack a massive 7,000 mAh battery supporting 100W wired charging. The design will reportedly include a glass back, a plastic frame, dual speakers, and an IR blaster.
On the other hand, the Nord CE5 will come with a 6.7-inch flat OLED screen, also boasting a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset and will offer 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Like the Nord 5, the CE5 will feature a 50 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 16 MP selfie camera. The Nord CE5 will also come with a hefty 7,100 mAh battery, supporting 80W wired charging.
While the Nord 5’s design might raise some eyebrows due to its switch from a metal to a plastic frame, the phone’s other features-including the powerful battery and high-end cameras-are likely to make it an attractive option for those looking for performance on a budget.
