Oppo is preparing to launch the K13x smartphone in India, and they’re emphasizing its durability like never before. This new phone, the successor to last year’s K12x, has undergone rigorous tests to demonstrate its ability to withstand harsh conditions. Oppo is taking a unique approach with the K13x by combining a plastic midframe on the outside with a strong AM04 aluminum alloy on the inside, the same material used in high-performance aircraft.
According to Oppo, this new alloy is up to 10% more durable than the materials used in previous Oppo K-series models.
Not only has the K13x passed SGS and MIL-STD durability certifications, but it also boasts a Sponge Biomimetic Shock Absorption System. This system uses high-energy absorbing materials as a buffer, protecting the internal components from external impacts. During real-world drop tests from heights between 1.1m and 1.3m onto granite surfaces, the K13x showed no signs of structural damage or performance issues. Oppo also tested screen-down drops from 1.2m and confirmed that the device continued to operate flawlessly.
In addition to drop resistance, the K13x comes with an IP65 rating, making it resistant to both dust and water. It features Oppo’s Crystal Shield glass, which is also used in their flagship phones. For those who often use their phone in challenging environments, the K13x includes features like Splash Touch, which ensures responsive touch control even with wet hands, and Oppo Glove Touch for using the phone while wearing gloves or inside a waterproof case.
To further protect the K13x, Oppo is bundling its Anti-Drop Shield case with the phone, offering extra peace of mind for those concerned about accidents. Available in Midnight Violet and Sunset Peach, the K13x will soon launch in India, bringing durability and performance to a new level.
