The Paper: The Office Spinoff Arrives on Peacock This September

Peacock’s highly anticipated The Office spinoff, The Paper, will be available for streaming on September 4, 2025. Set in Ohio, the series centers around a struggling local newspaper, The Toledo Truth Teller, and is presented through the same documentary-style lens that made The Office‘s Dunder Mifflin branch so iconic.

Fans of the original show may be disappointed that familiar faces like Michael Scott, Pam Beesly, and Dwight Schrute are not returning, but The Paper still has plenty of star power to draw in viewers.

Domhnall Gleeson (known for his role in Star Wars: Episode VII), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), and Chelsea Frei (The Moodys) are just a few of the notable names joining the cast. And while we don’t yet know much about the characters they’ll be playing, Oscar Nuñez, who played Oscar Martinez in The Office, is set to return. Fans will also recognize Greg Daniels, the creator of The Office, who is back as an executive producer and director alongside a talented team of other writers and directors.

The series will debut with the first four episodes on September 4, with new episodes releasing every Thursday until September 25. The Paper brings a fresh perspective to a genre beloved by many, though its connection to The Office may leave some wondering if this spinoff will live up to its predecessor’s legacy. Regardless, the show’s unique premise and a talented cast are worth giving it a shot. Whether or not it captures the same magic of The Office remains to be seen.
