Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 4 is getting a fresh upgrade with a redesigned charging dock.
According to Android Headlines, the new smartwatch will now charge on its side, thanks to a revamped docking mechanism positioned opposite the digital crown. Instead of contact points on the back like previous generations, the Watch 4 will feature charging connectors located in two slots near the speaker grille.
This shift not only simplifies the design but offers a practical bonus-you can now easily view the watch face while it charges on your bedside table, making it function almost like a smart clock.
There were earlier speculations that the Pixel Watch 4 might support wireless charging due to the absence of visible connectors on the back. However, the side-slot design confirms a wired, but visually cleaner, charging solution. Another notable improvement is its 25% faster charging speed compared to its predecessor.
The Pixel Watch 4 has already had several details leaked. It will be available in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. The display is said to reach a peak brightness of 3000 nits-an impressive jump for visibility in bright conditions. Under the hood, it will reportedly retain the same chipset as the Pixel Watch 3, keeping performance familiar but refined.
Pricing is expected to start at €399 for the 41mm version and €449 for the 45mm model. Google is likely to unveil the Pixel Watch 4 alongside the Pixel 10 smartphone lineup later this year.
