Poco is set to unveil the highly anticipated F7 on June 24 across multiple markets, but it seems there’s some disappointment brewing among global consumers. While the Indian model of the Poco F7 is set to feature a massive 7,550 mAh Si/C battery, the global version will come with a significantly smaller 6,500 mAh battery.
This news came directly from Poco’s global Twitter account, leaving many wondering why the brand has made such a distinction between the Indian and global versions.
At first glance, the 6,500 mAh battery on the global Poco F7 might still sound like a large capacity. However, when compared to the Indian model’s 7,550 mAh, it’s a noticeable difference. Unfortunately, Poco has not revealed the reasoning behind this disparity, leading to speculation about possible cost-cutting measures or differences in regional regulations. Interestingly, both versions will support the same charging speeds: 90W wired and 22.5W reverse wired charging, which means that regardless of the smaller battery, charging times should remain fairly consistent across all regions.
Besides the battery, the Poco F7 has already been teased to include top-tier specs like the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, a 50MP camera, and a 6,000 mm² “3D IceLoop System” cooling solution. Users can expect the device in three colors, as shown in leaked images. While these specs are impressive, the battery size difference is the main point of contention among potential buyers.
As the June 24 launch date approaches, we may see further updates from Poco regarding the reasoning behind the different battery sizes. In the meantime, enthusiasts can check out early unboxings and detailed reviews of the limited edition model to get a better sense of what to expect from this new release.
