Poco F7 Leak Reveals Giant Display, Massive Battery, and Polarizing Design

The upcoming Poco F7 has had nearly all its specs and images leaked ahead of launch, and there’s plenty to unpack.

While it’s still not officially unveiled, leaks show a phone that takes some bold-and controversial-steps in both design and performance.

The F7 will feature a massive 6.83-inch OLED display, surpassing the Pro and Ultra models in size. It trades a bit of resolution (1,280 x 2,772px) for brightness and efficiency, with 12-bit color support, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and an eye-searing 3,200 nits peak brightness. Eye comfort is handled with 3,840Hz PWM dimming.

At 163.1 x 77.9 x 8.2mm and 215.7g, it’s bulkier than both its siblings. This size bump houses a monstrous 7,550mAh battery (in select regions), offering 90W fast charging and even 22.5W reverse charging-a serious powerbank contender. However, globally it may come with a smaller 6,500mAh battery, sparking frustration among potential buyers.

Performance-wise, the F7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and offers up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It ships with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, complete with integrated AI features.

Photography is handled by a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS and an f/1.5 lens, supported by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 20MP selfie cam. Audiophiles will appreciate stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification. Additional perks include IP68 water/dust resistance, Wi-Fi 7, 5G with Band 20 support, NFC, and an IR blaster.

Design, however, has stirred debate. A green accent line and redesigned camera island have drawn criticism, with many fans longing for the brand’s signature yellow and bold logo. This design divergence, along with regional battery discrepancies, has led some to speculate that Xiaomi is deliberately toning down the F7’s global appeal to avoid cannibalizing sales of the Pro and Ultra.

The Poco F7 is reportedly launching in Indonesia on June 25, with global availability expected shortly after. Despite the backlash, there’s still high interest in the device-especially if it lands at a competitive price point.
