Poco F7 Unboxing: Striking Design Meets Gaming Ambition

We’ve unboxed the new Poco F7, and it’s already causing a stir with its bold design and powerful hardware. Slated for an official reveal on June 24, the Poco F7 sits below the Pro and Ultra models in the lineup and looks to target gamers and power users with an aggressive aesthetic and generous battery capacity.

Right out of the box, the Poco F7 includes a 90W fast charger, USB-C cable, and a protective case.

This is a welcome surprise for global users who often miss out on accessories. Design-wise, the silver model we received features green accents and a striking back panel-likely a special edition aimed at the gaming community.

The phone will also be available in white, and a black version is expected. While some might find the aggressive design polarizing, it appears to serve a purpose: positioning the F7 as a gaming-focused device, especially for markets like India where mobile gaming dominates.

Battery specs are still under wraps officially, but leaks suggest the global version will house a 6,550mAh battery, while India gets a beefier 7,550mAh unit. That’s larger than what’s offered in the F7 Pro (6,000mAh) and Ultra (5,300mAh). Thermal performance is another area of interest, with many hoping that Poco has enhanced the cooling system after concerns with Chinese variants overheating.

The only downside? The rear design, with its green lines, has split opinion. While some love the futuristic look, others say it detracts from the clean elegance seen in devices like the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro or the older Poco F3. That said, this special edition may not represent the final design for all color variants.

Pricing will be key. With the F7 Pro at £360 and the Ultra at £530, the vanilla Poco F7 must come in at under £300 to remain competitive, especially as Xiaomi pushes aggressive pricing in Europe.

Stay tuned for the full specs and benchmarks in our upcoming full review.
