The Pokémon Company has unveiled a brand-new Pokémon spin-off game called Pokémon Friends, a delightful daily brain teaser now available on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. Announced during today’s Pokémon Presents event, this engaging puzzle game is designed to challenge your mind with various Pokémon-themed brain teasers.
In the trailer, we got a sneak peek at some of the puzzle types players will face in Pokémon Friends.
One of the puzzles involves a grid of tiles with light bulbs, where players must draw a line that touches each tile exactly once. Another puzzle challenges players to slide tiles to connect a water path from one side to the other. There are also puzzles that require players to connect train tracks, predict which balloons will survive a flying arrow, navigate an ice maze, and more. All these puzzles are set against a backdrop of beloved Pokémon like Pikachu, Piplup, Mudkip, and Sableye, offering fans a familiar, yet fresh experience.
As players progress through the game, they can unlock virtual Pokémon plushies, which can be used to decorate a virtual room. Pokémon Friends is now available for download on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. While the game is free to start on mobile, it has a paywall that restricts further progress without a purchase. The Nintendo Switch version, priced at $9.99, offers full access to the game without any restrictions. With over 1,200 puzzles to solve, there’s no shortage of challenges to enjoy!
