Redmi has officially introduced the Redmi 15C to the European market, and while the budget-friendly pricing might appeal at first glance, the hardware tells a different story. Listed by an Italian retailer, the 15C is priced at €133.90 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB model and €154.90 for the 256GB version.

These prices align closely with previous leaks, though the value proposition is being widely debated.

The Redmi 15C comes in Moonlight Blue, Mint Green, Midnight Gray, and Twilight Orange. It sports a large 6.9-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate-but without the horsepower to fully utilize it. The device runs on the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset and features eMMC 5.1 storage, which is quite dated by 2025 standards. Many users will find the 4GB RAM limiting, especially considering the demands of modern Android systems.

On the camera side, there’s a 50 MP main shooter and a 13 MP front camera. The 6,000 mAh battery is a strong point, paired with 33W wired charging. Other specs include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, and a 205g weight with 8.2mm thickness.

But despite these features, many long-time Redmi followers are disappointed. The use of the Helio G81 chip marks a continued stagnation in the C-series lineup, echoing the same performance from the past four generations. Competing devices like the POCO C75, essentially a rebranded Redmi 14C, offer 6GB RAM and better performance at nearly half the price on platforms like AliExpress. This makes the 15C a hard sell in a market filled with more capable alternatives.

In short, the Redmi 15C feels like a step backward, not forward-a device stuck in a past it can’t escape.
