Redmi Pad 2 Pricing Leaks, But 2025 Competition Makes It a Tough Sell

Redmi Pad 2 Price Leaked, But Is It Still Worth It in 2025?

The long-awaited Redmi Pad 2 has finally surfaced through European retailer listings, shedding light on its pricing and full spec sheet. But after nearly two and a half years of waiting since the original Redmi Pad, does this sequel actually make sense in today’s tablet market?

The base variant is priced at €199, offering 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, and Wi-Fi-only connectivity.

A 4G version is listed at a significantly higher €299, but this comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Two color options—Mint Green and a gray/black variant—are expected to be available.

Specs-wise, the tablet runs on the MediaTek Helio G100 SoC, a slightly upgraded chip compared to the older Helio G99 used in the 2022 Redmi Pad. It features an 11-inch 2.5K IPS LCD display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 600-nit brightness, promising a decent visual experience for casual users. An 8 MP rear and 5 MP front camera combo round out the basic media needs, while the 9,000 mAh battery supports 18W charging—though, as usual in Europe, the charger is not included.

Despite the solid build and decent battery life, many are questioning the value proposition. The Redmi Pad Pro (6/128GB) with the vastly superior Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 sells for about the same price as the base Redmi Pad 2. Even more damning is the existence of the Xiaomi Pad 7 with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3—starting at €320 for 8/128GB—which offers a dramatically better experience for not much more.

The Helio G100 is often compared to a Snapdragon 695 without 5G support—meaning it lacks modern power and efficiency. Some users even argue it’s more suited for Android Go devices rather than full-featured tablets. And in 2025, 4GB of RAM feels like a relic, especially for a multitasking device like a tablet. Performance issues and future slowdowns are inevitable, especially with heavy apps or updates over time.

While the Redmi Pad 2 may suit undemanding users who just want a Netflix machine or a digital notepad, those looking for real performance or future-proofing may want to look elsewhere. After such a long wait, it’s disappointing to see no major leap forward—just another budget slab in an increasingly competitive market.

G100? Really? That's like SD695 minus 5G... slow even when brand new 🤷‍♂️

Will 4GB RAM ever go in history? This is 2025 not 2015 😂

You can't even call anyone with that '4G' model. Why even bother?

Xiaomi Pad 7 is where it's at. Redmi Pad 2 should’ve been €150 tops
