Sloclap’s latest football game, Rematch, has officially reached two significant milestones: 1 million copies sold and 3 million unique players. Since its official release on June 19, the multiplayer game has been gaining traction quickly, fueled in part by its launch on Xbox Game Pass, which has been a major factor in its success. 
The game also had an early access release for players who purchased the deluxe edition, further contributing to its rapid player base expansion.
Within just 24 hours of its release, Rematch managed to attract a massive 1 million unique players, either through purchases or Game Pass. Fast forward a week, and the game has tripled its player count while also hitting the impressive sales milestone of 1 million copies sold.
The stats speak for themselves: Rematch has already racked up an incredible 11.8 million matches played, 55.6 million goals scored, 33.5 million assists, and 69.1 million saves. Sloclap expressed their gratitude for the community’s support and reaffirmed that this is just the beginning for the game.
Despite the successes, the game isn’t without its issues. Wccftech’s review highlighted a few core problems that are bringing down the overall experience, such as poor menu design, slow progression, and issues with in-game actions, like misclassifying goalkeeping actions. However, none of these issues are game-breakers, and many can be patched in future updates. The reviewer also joked about players needing to master the art of passing in football, which seems to be a common challenge for many.
Overall, Rematch has proven to be a hit in the multiplayer sports genre, showing that Sloclap has successfully expanded their reach after the success of their previous martial arts title, Sifu. With continued support and updates, it looks like Rematch is poised to grow even further.
