Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword Playable at Gamescom 2025

Gamescom 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting event for gamers, with Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword both set to be playable for the first time.

These two classic franchises are gearing up for their long-awaited return, and attendees will have the chance to try them out before their official release.

CAPCOM recently confirmed that both Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be available for hands-on play at Gamescom 2025, taking place from August 20th to August 24th in Cologne, Germany. The event will feature more than 85 demo stations spread across an impressive 950 square meters, offering plenty of opportunities to check out the upcoming titles.

In addition to these highly anticipated games, CAPCOM may also showcase the third title revealed last week-Pragmata-which could be playable at the show as well.

Among the two games, the buzz around Resident Evil Requiem seems to be especially strong. The game was teased at the end of this year’s Summer Game Fest, with a trailer that revealed a key character, Grace, and hinted that Raccoon City will be a central location in the game. However, the trailer raised many questions that fans are eager to see answered. On the other hand, Onimusha: Way of the Sword has generated excitement with its latest showing, leaving fans hopeful for a thrilling experience.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27th, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, while Onimusha: Way of the Sword currently holds a vague 2026 release window for PC and consoles.
