Samsung Galaxy Buds Core: Battery Boosted, But Are They Fixable?
Samsung is preparing to update its entry-level true wireless earbuds lineup with the upcoming Galaxy Buds Core, set to replace last year’s Galaxy Buds FE.
Recently appearing on official support pages with model number SM-R410, the Buds Core are generating buzz—especially due to leaked battery specs that hint at longer usage time and perhaps even a design shakeup.
According to industry insider @TheGalox_, each earbud will carry a 100 mAh battery, while the charging case will house a 500 mAh cell. Compared to the Buds FE’s 60 mAh buds and 479 mAh case, this is a significant upgrade. That means potentially longer playback time and less frequent charging—a real perk for anyone tired of mid-commute audio dropouts.
Interestingly, this boost in battery size also raises the question: will the Buds Core adopt the stem-style design seen in the recent Buds3 and Buds3 Pro? While no design leaks have surfaced yet, the increased capacity might require additional space, hinting at a potential form factor change.
As speculation grows, so do conversations around the longevity and repairability of modern earbuds. Many users are hoping Samsung finally embraces a more sustainable approach. The Buds FE and other previous models were notoriously difficult to repair, forcing users to discard them after a year or two of battery degradation. Brands like Fairphone have stepped into the ring with repairable earbuds, but big players like Samsung have yet to follow suit.
And yes, the good ol’ wired-vs-wireless debate is still alive. While wired headphones remain the gold standard for audiophiles and those concerned with longevity, the convenience of wireless—especially during workouts or commutes—is undeniable. The smartest solution? Why not both? Modern accessories like Shure’s RMCE-TW2 or FiiO’s UTWS3 allow you to use your favorite wired IEMs with Bluetooth adapters, combining the best of both worlds.
Ultimately, the Galaxy Buds Core seem to be a solid step forward in battery life and possibly usability. But Samsung, take note: we’re also asking for repairability, durability, and flexibility—not just flashy upgrades and forced obsolescence.

Lol worried about Bluetooth radiation but typing that on a phone that’s got a higher SAR rate than your router. 🤡
Bluetooth gives you cancer. Better use wired earphones. Analog is the way to go. A good wired earphone costs less than 20 usd
Why not just use wireless adapters for your good wired IEMs? Like Shure or FiiO ones. You get Bluetooth without the landfill waste
Imagine paying $100 to fix $200 earbuds. Just replace the battery or move on. Everything else usually still works
or get a quality wired setup that will last even longer 🙂
Fairphone already nailed this. Samsung should be ashamed at how unrepairable their stuff is
Still wild how there’s zero leaks about the Buds Core design. Launch is probably weeks away??
