Samsung is about to unveil a new addition to its Galaxy Buds lineup, and it’s shaping up to be a game-changer. The Galaxy Buds Core are set to feature the longest battery life Samsung has ever packed into a pair of earbuds.

With up to 35 hours of playtime without Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), these buds could easily outlast the current Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in real-world usage – especially for those who don’t mind skipping ANC for the sake of longevity.

Even with ANC turned on, the Galaxy Buds Core still promise a solid 21 hours of playback, which is impressive for a pair of budget-friendly earbuds. Each bud is equipped with a 65mAh battery, while the case packs a 500mAh battery, which is more than what many entry-level earbuds offer. For comparison, the CMF Buds 2 Plus, priced at $79, come with a smaller 53mAh battery in each earbud and a 460mAh charging case.

For people who spend long hours commuting or traveling, or simply enjoy listening to music or podcasts all day, long battery life is often more important than flashy features

. If Samsung prices the Buds Core right, they could become a sleeper hit for everyday users.

The name “Core” gives us a hint that these are meant to be simple, no-frills earbuds designed for essential features. Similar to the Galaxy Buds FE, which launched at $99 last year, the Buds Core are rumored to be priced even lower. Considering the standard Galaxy Buds 3 are already priced at $99 in the U.S., offering better sound and ANC, the Buds Core need to come in at a lower price to capture attention.

Despite the lower price tag, the Buds Core won’t skimp on features.

These buds will come with Samsung’s Galaxy AI tools, including Real-time Interpreter and Live Translate. With Interpreter, you can stay engaged in conversations while Galaxy AI handles real-time translations – a feature that could be a game-changer, especially when you’re on the go and don’t want to constantly check your smartphone screen for translations.

Unfortunately, it seems the Galaxy Buds Core might not be available in the U.S. at launch, which would be a shame. But with Samsung’s Unpacked event coming up on July 9 in New York, we might get more information on availability, along with a closer look at other exciting devices, including the new Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Galaxy Watch 8, and even the long-rumored tri-foldable phone.

The Galaxy Buds Core might just be the surprise star of the event, especially for those who prioritize reliable, long-lasting audio without breaking the bank.

I travel a lot and battery life is a must. If these can last like they say, I’ll be all over them
