Samsung Confirms 3nm Exynos 2500 Chip for Galaxy S25

Samsung has officially confirmed the Exynos 2500 chip for the first time. The South Korean firm named the 3nm chip during its earnings call. This will be the company’s second 3nm chip after the Exynos W1000, which was announced earlier this month. Samsung will likely use the Exynos 2500 in at least some Galaxy S25 series smartphones.

Leaked Exynos 2500 Specifications

According to some reports, the Exynos 2500 features a 10-core CPU, featuring one Cortex-X5 core clocked at 3.2GHz, three Cortex-A730 cores running at 2.3-2.5GHz, two Cortex-A730 cores clocked slightly lower, and four Cortex-A520 cores. It could also feature Samsung’s own Xclipse 950 GPU, which is based on AMD’s RDNA3 architecture.

Some rumors claim that Samsung will finally be able to match the power efficiency of Snapdragon chips with the Exynos 2500. If that is true, Samsung may have a winner on its hands.

Samsung Q2 2024 Profit Was Better than Expected

After announcing its revenue estimates earlier this month, Samsung has announced its financial results for the second quarter of this year. The South Korean firm reported a 23.42% rise in revenue and a meteoric rise of 1,458% in operating profit in Q2 2024 compared to last year. These better-than-expected numbers are due to the rise in memory chip prices amid the ongoing AI boom.

OLED, HBM, and SSD sales helped Samsung achieve impressive revenue. Samsung’s smartphone sales declined slightly in Q2 2024, but the company expects memory chip sales to remain strong for the rest of the year. It is expanding the production of HBM and server DRAM chips to meet the growing demand.

Conclusion

Samsung’s quarterly financial results reflect a positive outlook for the company, with rising profits and strong sales in various sectors. The confirmation of the Exynos 2500 chip for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series indicates Samsung’s commitment to technological advancements and meeting consumer demands. With a focus on innovation and stable supply chains, Samsung continues to position itself as a key player in the tech industry.
