Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its Galaxy S26 series, expected in January, and the new lineup will include three models: the S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra. Notably, the S26 Plus model has been retired, leaving fans to focus on these three variants. Earlier rumors about the new devices have now been indirectly confirmed with details about their codenames, which are NPA1, NPA2, and NPA3.
These codes are said to stand for ‘Next Paradigm’ or ‘New Paradigm,’ following the S25 series that was also labeled under the ‘paradigm’ code.
The most exciting rumor revolves around the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is expected to feature a massive 200 MP main camera, possibly using an advanced Sony sensor. Additionally, the S26 Ultra may also come with a 50 MP telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom, making it an attractive choice for photography enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the S26 Edge will reportedly have a 50 MP ultrawide camera. As for the base S26, it’s rumored to get minimal upgrades, particularly in the camera department.
Sources claim that the information comes from publicly accessible databases, with ties to Samsung and its suppliers, suggesting the leak could be more reliable than usual. However, until Samsung makes an official announcement, we’ll have to take these details with a pinch of salt.
