Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge: Thinner, Better Battery, and More

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge may have been a sleek and thin phone, but it wasn’t without its flaws, especially when it came to battery life. With the release of the Galaxy S26 Edge, Samsung is rumored to address this issue while keeping the device even thinner. According to popular leaker Ice Universe, the new Edge will be thinner than the S25’s already impressive 5.8mm, all while featuring a larger battery.

The larger battery is expected to come thanks to new battery material technology, which could allow Samsung to push the limits of battery capacity without adding bulk. While some speculations point to new materials like Si/C, the exact details remain unclear for now. Either way, this change should help make the Galaxy S26 Edge a more practical device for everyday use, without sacrificing the sleek design fans love.

The S25 Edge’s 3,900mAh battery, while efficient for a slim design, simply couldn’t keep up with power-hungry apps and heavy usage, leading to a less-than-ideal experience for some users. The new S26 Edge is likely to feature a battery in the range of 4,100mAh to 4,500mAh, addressing the main concern while still keeping the device as slim as possible. As for other features, the camera setup and charging speed on the S25 Edge left much to be desired, and it’s expected that these issues will also be addressed in the upcoming model.

Rumors also suggest the device may feature a USB-C port despite its thinner profile, making it more practical for everyday use. While some users question the possibility of squeezing a USB-C port into such a thin design, it’s not out of the question, as we’ve seen similar designs on other devices, like the Huawei Mate XT. In short, the Galaxy S26 Edge promises to be a thinner, more powerful, and more reliable phone that will likely meet the needs of users who want the best of both worlds.
