Recent reports offer new insights into the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s telephoto camera system. After the initial news that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will boast a 200MP primary camera, the latest update, courtesy of GalaxyClub, reveals details about the device’s telephoto lens. One of the telephoto cameras is expected to feature a 50MP periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom, a setup similar to last year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. The second telephoto camera on the S25 Ultra had a 10MP sensor with 3x optical zoom, but there are rumors that the S26 Ultra will switch to a 200MP sensor for this lens as well. 
This change, if confirmed, would be a significant upgrade.
In addition to the telephoto lenses, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s primary camera might feature a variable aperture, allowing for enhanced versatility in different lighting conditions. However, these are still early speculations, and we’ll need to wait for further reports to confirm the exact configurations.
Despite these exciting upgrades, some users have expressed dissatisfaction with the S25 Ultra’s camera performance, calling for improvements in certain areas. Some even suggest the potential return of the 10x zoom camera from the S23 Ultra, adding more flexibility to the telephoto setup.
