The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic has surfaced on eBay, confirming the long-rumored ‘squircle’ design and offering a sneak peek at what’s to come. This prototype, which has appeared for sale on the platform, reveals some of the key features that enthusiasts have been buzzing about for months.
The model in question, listed under the name ‘OZXT’ (likely with a ‘0’ instead of an ‘O’), carries the model number SM-L505U, signifying a 46mm variant with LTE and a whopping 64GB of storage.
The retail box contains a sleek leather strap, which is likely to vary depending on the watch color, and a magnetic charging adapter with a USB-C plug. A key feature that stands out is the rotating bezel, a beloved component last seen on the Galaxy Watch6 Classic. Unlike its predecessor, however, the new model includes an extra button: a crown. However, unlike the rotating crown found on other smartwatches, this crown is non-rotating, reminiscent of the design seen on the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic continues Samsung’s trend of emphasizing sound quality, featuring a prominent speaker on the left side, much like the Ultra variant. While the Exynos W1000 chipset, which powered the previous generation, is expected to remain, the new iteration of the Galaxy Watch8 series is anticipated to feature larger batteries for improved longevity.
The Watch8 Classic, along with the regular Galaxy Watch8, is expected to be officially revealed at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in mid-July, aligning with the launch of the new Galaxy foldables. However, Samsung has yet to send out official invitations for the event, so fans will have to wait a little longer for the official confirmation.
