Samsung’s New Foldables and Watch 8: Prices May Surprise You

Rumors about Samsung’s next-gen foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, as well as the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup, have been making waves.

Initially, there were concerns that these devices would come with hefty price tags, but recent leaks suggest a more reasonable pricing strategy.

WinFuture’s Roland Quandt, who is known for reliable industry insights, claims that European retailers are predicting prices that are surprisingly affordable considering the upgrades expected for the foldables. Of course, these prices aren’t confirmed until Samsung’s official announcement on July 9, but there’s reason to believe that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 could be more budget-friendly than anticipated.

According to these rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will start at €1,099 for the 256GB version, and €1,219 for the 512GB model. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be priced at €1,999 for the 256GB version, €2,119 for the 512GB model, and a whopping €2,359 for the 1TB variant. While €1,099 converts to about $1,275, it’s expected that the US price will be a bit lower, likely starting around $1,049 or even $999 for the Z Flip 7, which could offer incredible value for its upgrades.

The Z Flip 7 is rumored to feature a massive 6.85-inch primary display and a large 4-inch secondary screen. While some might worry about performance, it’s speculated that the device will use Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite that’s expected in the Z Fold 7. This could be a reason for the lower pricing, but given the specs, it still seems like a fantastic deal.

The Z Fold 7 is also likely to follow its predecessor’s pricing, which is expected to remain at $1,899 in the US. Though this isn’t cheap, it’s understandable given the technology and foldable features on offer. Samsung’s fans are accustomed to these prices, especially with a possible tri-fold model on the horizon

. With the Z Fold 7 bringing key upgrades over the Z Fold 6, it seems like a solid deal in the premium foldable market.

However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. The Galaxy Watch 8 series, including the regular, Classic, and Ultra models, could see slight price increases. The standard Galaxy Watch 8 is expected to cost €40-50 more than its predecessor, meaning a potential increase from $299 to $349 in the US. Despite this, there’s hope that the Watch 8 will offer improved internals, possibly better battery life, and other enhancements.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is rumored to be priced at €499 in Germany, which would mark a small jump from last year’s Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. This increase suggests that the US price might also rise to around $500. As for the rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra, it will likely keep the same price point as its first-generation model, priced at €699, or $650 in the US, making it a strong competitor against the Apple Watch Ultra.

In conclusion, while the price tags for Samsung’s new devices may not be as shocking as initially feared, they still reflect the high-end nature of these gadgets. For fans of foldables and wearables alike, Samsung’s upcoming lineup seems to be offering good value for the money, provided trade-ins and discounts are available to make these devices even more attractive.
