The Galaxy Z Flip FE is making a comeback, and it’s looking very promising. Samsung is expected to unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable phones next month. Both devices have been heavily leaked, leaving little to the imagination. However, there was less certainty surrounding the third member of the family – the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, also known as the Z Flip FE.

Galaxy Z Flip FE Resurfaces – Here’s What We Know

It was initially believed that the Flip FE wouldn’t launch alongside its pricier siblings at the summer Unpacked event, but recent leaks suggest that it might just make its debut together with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 after all. The Galaxy Z Flip FE has now been certified by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), which strongly hints at an imminent release. This certification, associated with a Samsung device bearing model number SM-F761U, is likely the carrier-locked version for the U.S. market.

While the certification doesn’t reveal any specifics about the device’s features or specs, it’s a significant confirmation of the phone’s existence and points to a potential launch next month. The listing also confirms that the Flip FE will be available in the U.S.

Rumors surrounding the Galaxy Z Flip FE suggest it will be a slightly modified version of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a more affordable price tag. The Flip FE is expected to sport a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED display and a 3.4-inch cover screen. Powered by the Exynos 2400e chip, the device will run One UI 8 and feature a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 4,000mAh battery.

In terms of competition, the Galaxy Z Flip FE won’t have much to worry about in the U.S. market. Although Samsung’s foldables are often pricey, they’re incredibly popular. While Chinese brands offer cheaper foldable options, they still haven’t reached the same level of popularity in the U.S. as Samsung, Apple, or Google. Apple’s foldable iPhone is still a rumor, with a potential launch expected in 2026, and Google doesn’t have a clamshell design in its foldable lineup. The Galaxy Z Flip FE will, however, face some competition from the Motorola Razr.

Although we only know the potential price for South Korea, where Samsung phones are generally cheaper, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is expected to be more affordable than the premium Galaxy Z Flip 7. The rumored South Korean price roughly converts to around $740, though this price may not directly translate to the U.S. or European markets due to taxes and local pricing variations.

Personally, I think a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip model is exactly what the market needs. I love the foldable clamshell design, but the high price often leaves me hesitant. It’s exciting to see a potentially cheaper foldable on the horizon. Expect the official announcement during Samsung’s Unpacked event in early July, with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 likely taking center stage, though the Flip FE could surprise us all.
