The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 has arrived, and we’re here to give you the full scoop! While its big brother, the Galaxy Z Fold7, grabs most of the attention, the Flip7 might just steal the spotlight with its own set of impressive features.
The retail packaging remains pretty standard with the phone, a SIM tool, and a USB-C cable. You can pick from two storage options: 12GB/256GB or 12GB/512GB, and there’s a range of colors including Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and the exclusive Mint shade available online.
One of the most significant upgrades on this generation of the Galaxy Z Flip is the cover screen. It’s now a 4.1-inch display that stretches from edge to edge, up from the previous 3.4 inches. To make room for this larger screen, Samsung made the phone slightly wider and taller, but the dimensions are still compact, measuring 13.7mm when closed and 6.5mm when open, compared to the 14.9mm/6.9mm on its predecessor.
The inner display has also seen a nice bump in size, going from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, which is noticeable when you’re using the device.
As for the cover screen, it’s not just bigger-it’s smarter, too! By default, you get a set of widgets, but you can unlock full app functionality by heading to Samsung Labs and enabling ‘All Apps on Cover Screen,’ then installing the MultiStar app from the Galaxy Store. Some apps might not fully utilize the entire cover screen, but it’s nice to have the option!
However, Samsung still lags behind Motorola’s Razr 60 Ultra, which allows any app on the outer screen without any workarounds. Still, the Z Flip7 is shaping up to be a fan favorite.
That’s all for now-stay tuned as we continue testing the device and give you our full review soon. Be patient, folks!
