Samsung Drops S Pen and Front Protection in Bold Galaxy Z Fold 7 Case Lineup

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 has had its official case lineup leaked, and the choices – or rather, omissions – are raising eyebrows.

While the designs look polished and modern, they also seem to carry an unspoken message: Samsung is feeling extra confident about the durability of its foldable flagship this year.

The lineup includes a Silicone Case, Clear Case, Clear Grip Case, Clear Magnet Case, and a sleek new Carbon Shield Case. But if you’re looking for an S Pen case or front panel protection – tough luck. Samsung appears to have quietly dropped both, suggesting a shift in priorities or possibly a subtle retreat from the S Pen accessory altogether.

This might signal that Samsung is betting big on the Fold 7’s improved build quality. The lack of a front protection ring – once a staple – hints that the device is now thin enough that such accessories might compromise design integrity. This is further backed up by the latest renders, which align with previous leaks and hands-on shots. Most notably, the Fold 7 ditches the controversial camera module seen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, streamlining the rear into something much more elegant.

The new Carbon Shield case adds a touch of premium flair, perhaps aiming to compete with third-party offerings like Pitaka. But for those who prioritize minimalism, the simple black silicone remains a safe bet – or just go caseless to admire the design evolution from the Fold 6. With its thinner profile and refined aesthetics, the Fold 7 almost makes its predecessor look like a prototype.

Of course, not everyone’s onboard. Some users are disappointed by the lack of full coverage, especially given the phone’s high price tag. That said, the addition of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE gives fans a more affordable entry point into Samsung’s foldable ecosystem.

Still on the fence? Alternatives like the Honor Magic V5 and Oppo Find N5 are also worth a look. The Magic V5 boasts a 6,100mAh battery – a far cry from the Fold 7’s 4,400mAh – and promises seven years of software support. And let’s not forget Apple’s rumored entry into the foldable space. Word has it their first foldable iPhone may debut next year, though early display leaks already suggest Samsung may have a head start – at least for now.
