The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are almost here, and leaks are spilling out everywhere ahead of their official release.
Recently, popular leaker Evan Blass shared fresh renders, giving us a glimpse of just how slim these new foldables are going to be.
The Flip 7 seems to keep the same slim profile as its predecessor, measuring at 6.9 mm thick. But the real star here is the Fold 7, which has undergone a significant redesign. With a new thickness of just 8.9 mm, it’s a huge leap forward compared to the 12.1 mm thickness of the Fold 6. Samsung has truly refined the design, making the Fold 7 feel modern and cutting-edge.
While the slim profile is impressive, Samsung hasn’t compromised on performance. The Fold 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the same powerhouse chip used in the Galaxy S25 series. And despite its svelte build, the Fold 7 promises to be Samsung’s most advanced foldable yet, with rumors suggesting significant improvements to the main display’s crease compared to the previous generation.
One aspect that’s still up for debate is the battery life. The Fold 7 will retain the 4,400 mAh battery of the Fold 6, and the charging speeds may not be much of an upgrade. However, the overall package seems to hit the sweet spot of slimness, power, and innovation.
The foldable market has been struggling lately, but Samsung’s commitment to improving the foldable experience is a welcome sign. With the upcoming G Fold tri-foldable device and competition from the likes of Huawei’s Mate XT, the Fold 7 could breathe new life into the foldable segment. Plus, if the rumored foldable iPhone launches next year, it will undoubtedly stir up excitement.
For now, the Honor Magic V5 may hold the crown as the slimmest foldable on the market. But if long-term software support and Samsung’s smooth One UI are your priorities, the Fold 7 could be your perfect match. Expect to see the Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, and Fold 7 unveiled next month, with the devices launching in August.
