Samsung is gearing up to unveil its new flagship foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, in July. While the company has already teased one of these devices, the date for its next Unpacked event remained a mystery-until now. Well-known leaker Evan Blass has just confirmed that the event will take place on July 9, 2025, at 10AM EDT. 
As for the location, it’s expected to be New York City, based on the time zone provided in the leak, but Samsung has yet to confirm the details.
In addition to the foldables, Samsung is also set to announce a new series of smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The tech giant will also introduce two new flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, expected to arrive this fall.
Despite being anticipated as Samsung’s next foldable models, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are expected to be iterative updates rather than groundbreaking innovations. The focus will be on refining the existing design and features of the foldable form factor.
One common gripe among fans is the relatively small battery size in Samsung’s foldables compared to the competition. For instance, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 houses a 4,400 mAh battery, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to have a similar capacity. On a more positive note, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is rumored to come with a bigger 4,300 mAh battery, up from the 4,000 mAh in the Z Flip 6.
In contrast, competitors like Honor and Oppo offer larger battery options, such as the 5,150 mAh in the Magic V3 and the 5,600 mAh in the Oppo Find N5, making room for Samsung to improve battery performance further.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are expected to begin immediately after the Unpacked event, with devices likely hitting store shelves in the following month. Expect significant discounts and trade-in deals from Samsung, especially with major US carriers carrying the foldables.
