Samsung’s next-gen foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, are almost here-but not without controversy. Despite Samsung’s attempts to keep things quiet using internal codenames (Q7 for the Fold7 and B7 for the Flip7), a leak from NieuweMobiel has exposed what could be their final prices-via an Italian retailer, no less.
The leaked listings suggest the Galaxy Z Fold7 will start at €2,227 for the 256GB version, with the 512GB model climbing to €2,309. That’s a roughly €200 increase over last year’s models-definitely eyebrow-raising, even with Italy’s 22% VAT factored in. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip7 with 512GB storage comes in at about €100 more than its predecessor.
Many fans are already balking at the numbers, calling them outrageous. And honestly, it’s hard to argue. While Samsung might be planning to soften the blow with a rumored Galaxy Z Flip7 FE-a more budget-friendly foldable-the top-tier pricing still feels like a punch to the wallet.
Of course, leaked prices are always worth taking with a grain of salt. Retailers sometimes use placeholder pricing, and early listings don’t always reflect the final launch tags. Still, if these numbers hold, Samsung could be banking hard on early adopters with deep pockets-or hoping the FE edition keeps the rest of us interested.
As launch day approaches, the pressure’s on Samsung to justify these premium price tags-not just with hardware upgrades, but with real value that stands up in a competitive market.
