Samsung Introduces 1TB Pro Plus and Evo Select MicroSD Cards in the USA

Samsung Introduces New 1TB MicroSD Cards

Remember microSD cards? While it’s quite rare to find a modern smartphone that can make use of one, things like drones, action cameras, and handheld consoles like the Nintendo Switch still very much rely on these cards for storage – and as always, the larger and faster the card, the better.

Samsung is introducing new Pro Plus and Evo Plus microSD cards with capacities up to 1TB. The cards come with a new 28nm controller, providing more power efficiency and improved durability. The Pro Plus cards offer speeds of up to 180MB/s read and 130MB/s write, while the Evo Plus cards have speeds of 160MB/s read and 120MB/s write. Both cards are rated A2 for application storage, U3 and V30 for general file storage, and 4K video recording.

These cards are designed to withstand water, high temperatures, X-rays, and magnetic fields and come with a 10-year limited warranty. The Pro Plus 1TB model is priced at $154, but a discount is available for $119.99 on the company’s official online store in the US. The Evo Plus 1TB is priced at $132, discounted to $119.99.

Samsung MicroSD Cards Launch in South Korea

Samsung has also launched the 1TB Pro Plus microSD card in South Korea, along with the 1TB Evo Plus model. The Pro Plus 1TB is priced at $125.99, and the Evo Plus 1TB at $115.99 in the country. These cards are expected to be available in other countries soon. Additionally, the Kioxia Exceria Plus G2 2TB microSD card is worth considering, being the world’s first 2TB microSD memory card.
