Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8 Watch beta rollout for its latest smartwatches, delivering a feature-packed update to Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra users. Just before the end of June, owners of these models in the US and South Korea can now opt into the beta via the Samsung Members app.

Weighing in at a hefty 1.9 GB, this update also includes the May 2025 security patch.

Currently, it’s limited to Bluetooth versions and T-Mobile’s LTE variants of the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra.

The One UI 8 Watch update focuses heavily on improving usability and connectivity from your wrist. According to an early changelog shared by a Reddit user, new gesture controls, enhanced notification management, improved charging animations, and smarter health tracking features are all part of the package.

Samsung confirmed that more models are slated to receive the beta soon, including:

  • Galaxy Watch 5
  • Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
  • Galaxy Watch FE
  • Galaxy Watch 6
  • Galaxy Watch 6 Classic

However, not all news is good. Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic users are out of luck, as these models won’t be getting the One UI 8 update. This signals the end of major update support for Samsung’s older generation smartwatches.

For those eager to explore the new features before the official launch, enrolling in the beta through the Samsung Members app is the way to go. The final release may still be months away, but early access gives users a firsthand look at Samsung’s next big smartwatch leap.
