Samsung is gearing up to unveil three new squircle Galaxy Watches, with leaks revealing the upcoming Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch8 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025. These models are expected to debut at Samsung’s next Unpacked event, which is rumored to take place in New York next month.
All three watches will feature the squircle design introduced in the Galaxy Watch Ultra from last year, with each model maintaining its distinct look while still belonging to the same design family.
The Watch8 Classic will retain the iconic rotating bezel that users love, while also introducing the Quick Button from the Ultra model. The regular Watch8 will come in two sizes, whereas the Classic and Ultra will have a one-size-fits-all approach. This unified design language across all models makes for an exciting release, but it’s also generating mixed reactions from fans.
In terms of functionality, many users have expressed their concerns about the design changes, particularly the added bezels and the shape of the screen. Some argue that the extra metal or plastic around the edges is unnecessary and only adds bulk without offering any real benefits. Others are simply unimpressed with the squircle shape itself, calling it a “half measure” that doesn’t quite hit the mark. Yet, despite these criticisms, the Watch8’s sleek design and the possible new color options for the Ultra model have generated a bit of excitement.
One thing that’s clear is the anticipation surrounding the Ultra’s possible new color variants, with many speculating that it might not be a second-generation model but rather a refreshed version of the existing one. As for the Watch8 Classic, it seems to have impressed some fans, especially those who already own older models like the Watch4 Classic. However, the real question on everyone’s mind remains the battery life. If the new Galaxy Watches can’t offer a substantial improvement in battery performance, they might not live up to user expectations.
