Samsung is reportedly ramping up efforts to support the upcoming iPhone Fold with a dedicated production line for its OLED panels. According to a recent report from ET News, the A3 plant in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, is being equipped to produce foldable OLED displays.

This move suggests that Samsung will be the exclusive display supplier for Apple’s much-anticipated foldable iPhone, which is currently in its prototype testing phase with an expected launch in September 2026.

Apple has been reportedly impressed with Samsung’s foldable display technology, especially the nearly crease-less 7.8-inch main display that will feature in the iPhone Fold. Samsung’s production capacity for these panels is expected to be substantial, with estimates suggesting they can produce up to 35,000 foldable displays per month, totaling around 15 million units per year. This production volume should comfortably meet Apple’s expected sales of 6-8 million units for the foldable iPhone.

The iPhone Fold is set to come with a 5.5-inch cover screen, an under-display camera, and a side-mounted Touch ID sensor. It will feature an ultra-thin design at just 9mm when folded, with a liquid metal hinge for durability. Early reports estimate the launch price to be between $2,100 and $2,300, positioning it as a premium device, even higher than Samsung’s recently released Galaxy Z Fold7.
