Samsung isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to Apple’s latest announcements at WWDC 2025, and they’re doing what they do best-stirring the pot on social media. Samsung, the top smartphone vendor in the world, decided to take a jab at Apple’s ‘familiar’ new iOS 26 features with a cheeky tweet that quickly gained attention. Using its official Mobile US X account, Samsung pointed out that many of the new features in iOS 26, like customizable apps, floating bars, and a sleek glass UI, look oddly familiar. And while Samsung’s critiques hold some truth, they also conveniently ignore the fact that Samsung, along with Google, often borrows ideas from Apple too.

Let’s be clear: the mobile industry has always been a bit of a copycat game. No one can claim to have created an entirely original operating system or feature in the smartphone world, and both Apple and Samsung frequently adapt each other’s ideas. But what’s got Samsung riled up this time is Apple’s glaring lag in the artificial intelligence department. Despite Samsung’s Galaxy AI making its debut on the Galaxy Watch series last year, Apple’s AI still feels like it’s playing catch-up. Samsung was quick to highlight this, pointing out that Apple only recently introduced its version of AI, much later than anticipated. And let’s not forget the much-anticipated ‘Live Translation’ feature, which Apple also brought out at a much slower pace than its competitors.
Samsung’s criticism, though, might come off as a little petty at times, especially when considering that every tech giant is inspired by others. But, it’s clear that Samsung has a point when it comes to Apple’s hesitance in adopting some of the AI advancements that have been gaining traction in the industry for some time.
