Samsung’s next foldable phone, the W26, is already gearing up for release, following the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition’s success. Launched last year in Korea, this foldable phone stood out for being thinner, lighter, and offering larger screens-both the internal folding display and the outer cover screen-compared to the Galaxy Z Fold6.
It had everything users hoped the Fold6 would be, but it was initially exclusive to Korea and China, where it was known as the Samsung W25.
Now, the Samsung W26, the successor to the W25, has been certified for sale in China by the country’s regulatory authorities. While it’s still unclear whether the W26 will debut earlier than the W25, which launched in November, it’s certainly a possibility. The W26 will support 25W wired charging, a standard for Samsung devices, and, predictably, it won’t include a charger in the box. One noteworthy feature is satellite connectivity, which has been confirmed by the certification details.
As we wait for more information, Samsung is also preparing to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Flip7 FE at its Unpacked event on July 9. Stay tuned for more updates!
