Sony may be prepping a new budget-friendly Xperia device for 2025, but it’s not the model fans were hoping for.
Sony Xperia 10 VII Leaked Details: What to Expect in 2025

A new leak suggests the company is working on the Xperia 10 VII, a successor to the Xperia 10 VI, which could arrive later this year-likely in October.

The Xperia 10 VII was spotted in a database with model numbers ranging from PM-1510-BV to PM-1515-BV and carries the internal codename XQ-FE44. This device is expected to be a mid-range phone, following the release of the Xperia 1 VII earlier this year, Sony’s current flagship.

While no official specs have been leaked yet, the Xperia 10 series is known for offering lightweight designs, solid battery life, and 5G connectivity, all at an affordable price. The Xperia 10 VI from last year featured a 5,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, and a 6.1-inch OLED display, with slight upgrades likely in the upcoming model.

What’s more intriguing is the noticeable absence of any mention of the Xperia 5 VII. The Xperia 5 line has traditionally been a more compact alternative to the Xperia 1 series, but now, it seems Sony might be shifting focus away from this segment. This could signal the company’s shift towards larger flagship phones and more accessible mid-range devices.

Another point of concern is the Xperia 1 VII’s launch in North America. So far, it’s still unavailable in the U.S., which raises questions about Sony’s commitment to this market. If this trend continues, the Xperia 10 VII might remain exclusive to Asia and Europe in its initial launch phase.

For now, the Xperia 1 VII and Xperia 10 VII are the only Sony phones expected in 2025, and only time will tell if the latter can perform better than the flagship model in its own category.
