iPhone 17 and 17 Pro to Feature 6.3-Inch Displays, Spigen Listing Reveals

Spigen may have just leaked a key detail about the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup. A product listing on Amazon India for Spigen’s popular EZ Fit Tempered Glass screen protector quietly confirmed that both the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display-matching the size of the current iPhone 16 Pro.

While Apple has yet to officially reveal the next iPhone series, accessory makers like Spigen often get early dimensions to prepare compatible products.

Their listing includes support for the iPhone 16 Pro (already confirmed to have a 6.3-inch screen) and both the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. That makes a strong case that these models will share the same screen size.

What’s interesting is that the regular iPhone 16 currently uses a 6.1-inch panel. If the iPhone 17 truly moves to 6.3 inches, it marks a noticeable bump in size for the base model. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro would likely retain better display technology-perhaps 120Hz ProMotion and brighter peak nits-features Apple continues to limit to its higher-end models.

Other rumored changes to the iPhone 17 series include the debut of an iPhone 17 Air, a new model that may replace the Plus and come with a 6.6-inch screen. The top-tier 17 Pro Max is expected to maintain its massive 6.9-inch display.

This shift towards larger displays aligns with recent trends. Despite nostalgia for compact phones, the best-selling iPhones in recent years have consistently been the standard models. But even those have been growing in size, and Apple seems to be doubling down on bigger panels.

Yet, the elephant in the room remains: Will Apple finally ditch 60Hz for the base models? Many fans hope that the jump to 6.3 inches also brings a higher refresh rate. But if history is anything to go by, Apple may keep its smoother displays exclusive to the Pro models, leaving the standard iPhone 17 with just 60Hz again-while Android phones under $200 offer 90Hz or even 120Hz as standard.

Unless Apple makes other major upgrades-like increasing base storage to 256GB-many users might find themselves questioning whether it’s worth paying more for the iPhone 17, especially if it’s just a larger iPhone 16 with minimal gains.
