STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl Is Coming to PS5 in Late 2025

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is making its way to PlayStation 5 in late 2025, marking a significant step for GSC Game World’s long-running series. The announcement came through the official STALKER 2 X account, accompanied by a short teaser trailer.

The trailer showed in-game characters playing the game on a PlayStation controller, with a distinct STALKER twist to it.

“The Perimeter expands – STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is officially announced for PlayStation 5,” the studio wrote. Players can already add it to their PlayStation Store wish list to be notified when pre-orders open and the official release date is revealed.

STALKER 2 originally launched in late 2024 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, but it had been absent from PlayStation until now. While every previous STALKER game had been available on PlayStation, this delay made PS5 owners wait patiently for their chance to experience the latest entry in the franchise. Upon release, the game suffered from technical issues, with some outlets reviewing a version that was notably broken, although a timely patch corrected many of the issues. Despite the rocky launch, STALKER 2 was still recognized as a “worthy successor” to its predecessors by critics, and it quickly surpassed 6 million players worldwide.

The game continues to receive updates, including modding tools for PC users, and it’s safe to say that by the time it launches on PS5, it will be much smoother, possibly offering the best console experience right from the start. Hopefully, PS5 and PS5 Pro users will enjoy a more polished version of the game compared to the initial Xbox release.

I never liked Exodus. Too bleak, too Soviet-era vibes, feels like Fallout. Definitely not on the level of TLOU. Just release Factions MP for TLOU2 already!
