Suikoden STAR LEAP to Release Globally on Steam, Konami Confirms

Konami has confirmed that Suikoden STAR LEAP, the highly anticipated next chapter in the beloved Suikoden RPG series, will be available globally on Steam, as well as on iOS and Android devices. This marks a significant moment for fans, as it’s the first new canon entry in the series in a long time. During today’s Press Start showcase, Konami shared exciting details about the upcoming game, including a brand-new trailer that offers a sneak peek into the game’s storyline. Set a few years before the events of the original Suikoden and shortly after Suikoden V, STAR LEAP promises to deliver an intriguing prequel with plenty of fan-favorite characters returning to the fold.

The game will feature stunning 2D graphics set against beautiful 3D backgrounds, reminiscent of the earlier Suikoden games, which will no doubt please long-time fans of the series. A major highlight is the return of classic characters like Viktor, Flik, and Odessa, who have been fan-favorites for years. Fans will be able to collect these characters through a gacha system, while still having the option to recruit the iconic 108 Stars of Destiny without needing to participate in the gacha mechanics, offering a more traditional experience.

Suikoden STAR LEAP was first teased back in March as a mobile entry in the franchise. While initially focusing on mobile platforms, the confirmation of its Steam release is sure to excite PC gamers as well. Konami’s push for a multi-platform launch is an excellent move to bring the series to a wider audience, and the new trailer suggests that the game’s world-building and character development will continue the series’ legacy of rich storytelling and deep strategic gameplay.

Fans of the Suikoden series will be eager to dive back into this vibrant universe, especially following the success of the Suikoden I & II remaster that launched earlier this year. That remaster brought the original games to modern systems, and now, STAR LEAP is poised to carry the franchise forward into new generations of gamers.
