T-Mobile is handing out more funds, and your town could be the next winner. The big carriers often make an effort to win some public affection, and now it’s T-Mobile’s turn. After distributing 25 Hometown Grant awards earlier this year, the company is back with another round.
This time, each new recipient will receive up to $50,000 for community projects – whether it’s restoring historical landmarks, revitalizing public spaces, or simply giving a neighborhood a fresh start.
In total, T-Mobile has invested nearly $18 million in this initiative, benefiting communities across 48 states and Puerto Rico. This latest round of funding brings the total number of towns supported to 400 since the program’s launch in 2021.
The program has already impacted over 2.4 million people, inspired more than 160,000 volunteer hours, and helped create over 1,200 jobs. It’s a solid achievement, and T-Mobile is eager to share its success.
“With over 2.4 million people already benefiting from our Hometown Grants, we’re keeping our promise to small towns and rural areas. Whether it’s modernizing classrooms, restoring main streets, or improving public spaces, we’re helping to build a more connected and stronger future for these communities. And there’s a lot more to come,” said Jon Freier, President of T-Mobile Consumer Group, June 17, 2025.
If you’re wondering whether your town made the cut, T-Mobile has released a video with the full list of winners. Check it out, and if your city’s on the list, congratulations!
One standout project from this batch: Reedley, California, is using its grant to give the historic 120-year-old Reedley Opera House a facelift. The project aims to support youth programs, make the arts more accessible, and revitalize downtown Reedley. While $50K won’t turn it into a Broadway theater, it’s a significant step for small towns, and every bit counts.
The grants aren’t distributed at random. T-Mobile collaborates with Main Street America, a nonprofit that supports local economies, to evaluate applications based on impact, feasibility, and the potential for success.
In fact, the Hometown Grants initiative isn’t just about beautifying parks or creating murals. T-Mobile has already invested nearly $5.3 million into projects aimed at growing small businesses – helping to strengthen local economies from the ground up.
Apart from these grants, T-Mobile continues to run programs like Project 10Million, which offers free internet and hotspots to eligible students to bridge the digital divide. This initiative is another way the company is working to support underserved communities.
Of course, T-Mobile isn’t the only carrier involved in community outreach. Verizon, for instance, recently announced a $5 billion commitment to investing in America and supporting small businesses. While these gestures don’t fix everything for customers, they do help improve a company’s public image.
