Tecno has unveiled its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Spark Go 2, following up on last year’s Spark Go 1. While the design remains largely unchanged, the new model brings a few notable upgrades. The Spark Go 2 features an improved IP64 water and dust resistance rating, a step up from the previous model’s IP54 rating.
One of the standout features is the addition of the Ella AI assistant, which now supports Indian regional languages, making it more accessible to a wider audience.
The Spark Go 2 is equipped with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a crisp HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, offering an enhanced viewing experience for the price. The front camera has an 8MP sensor, while the rear houses a single 13MP camera, despite the dual cutouts on the back that may initially suggest a dual-camera setup.
Under the hood, the Spark Go 2 is powered by the same Unisoc T7250 (T615) chipset as its predecessor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is expandable via a microSD card. The phone runs on Tecno’s HiOS 15, based on Android 15, promising a smooth, lag-free experience for up to four years, though details on future software updates remain unclear.
Battery life is another highlight, with a large 5,000 mAh battery that supports 15W charging. In terms of audio, the device is equipped with stereo speakers tuned by DTS for an immersive sound experience. Additional features include a headphone jack, an IR blaster, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for added security.
The Spark Go 2 will be available in four colors: Ink Black, Titanium Grey, Veil White, and Turquoise Green. The device will be priced at INR 6,999 ($81) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, and sales will begin in India on July 1.
