Whether you were there in person or tuning in remotely, it was a day filled with revelations about the future of these two beloved games.

One of the most exciting announcements was the new narrative chapter for Warframe, titled The Old Peace. This chapter delves into the past with a focus on the Tenno Operators, offering players a chance to experience story-driven missions featuring the fan-favorite Excalibur Prime. Although Excalibur Prime will not be available permanently, players will get the rare opportunity to wield him in a few key story moments.

Soulframe, Digital Extremes’ fantasy follow-up to Warframe, also received a significant update during the livestream. While still in development, the team offered a deeper look at the game’s progress. Players were treated to an exciting showcase of new gameplay mechanics, including the introduction of sidearms, archery playstyles, and casting abilities. The focus for Soulframe remains on providing a variety of playstyles, including the much-requested two-handed weapon options.

Other highlights from Soulframe included a demo featuring a customization NPC named Verminia, who guided the player through Alca’s landscapes. The demo also showed off the ability to transform into a blue butterfly and sneak up on enemies, as well as combat against the formidable Waste Bear, a massive three-headed corrupted creature.

For Warframe fans, The Old Peace promises an immersive narrative filled with mystery. One of the key features is the introduction of Protoframes, which are human-infused Warframes. The upcoming content also introduces a new Warframe, Uriel, inspired by the devil with a dark, tar-like design. The narrative will expand with a side story titled The Devil’s Triad, which will shed light on new characters and the origins of the Warframe universe.

As part of the exciting Warframe updates, players can look forward to a slew of new content, including the Lavos deluxe skin, the 62nd Warframe, and a revamped tutorial quest aimed at simplifying the game’s mod system for new players. Digital Extremes is also planning a major rework for Oberon and promises an immersive experience for fans with its upcoming Untitled Fall Update.

Finally, in what could be one of the most exciting reveals of TennoCon 2025, Digital Extremes teased future content for the Nintendo Switch 2, with plans to take advantage of the new console’s impressive hardware. While a Switch 2 port is not yet confirmed, fans are eagerly awaiting more news on this potential move for the game.

With 2025 shaping up to be another packed year for Warframe, the excitement doesn’t stop there. Digital Extremes also teased plans for a full Tau Narrative Chapter in 2026, building on the storylines established in The Old Peace. There’s a lot to look forward to, and the future of both Warframe and Soulframe is brighter than ever.
