Tom Holland has opened up about the challenges of filming Spider-Man: No Way Home, revealing how the COVID-19 pandemic affected production. The actor reflected on how restrictions led to filming the entire movie on stages, which limited the creativity and flexibility of the cast and crew. However, for his next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland promised fans a fresh approach. ‘We were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID.
Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old school filmmaking and shoot in real locations,’ he shared during a chat with Flip Your Wig, posted on social media.
In fact, one of the first locations for the upcoming film has already been revealed: Glasgow. ‘We’re gonna use the streets of Glasgow for this massive set piece that we’re putting together,’ Holland added, giving fans a glimpse into what’s to come. This decision to shoot on location has him feeling nostalgic. ‘It’s gonna feel like making Spider-Man 1 again,’ he said. ‘It’s been such a long time since I’ve done it, and it’s gonna feel like a breath of fresh air.’ Holland expressed excitement over the direction the film is taking, promising that fans will be thrilled with what they see. With the film slated for release on July 31, 2026, fans can expect a more immersive and exciting adventure as Spider-Man returns to the big screen.
