Trump Mobile Debuts with Gold T1 Smartphone and Patriotic Flair
In a move that feels ripped straight from a satire sketch, the Trump Organization has officially launched Trump Mobile, a new wireless carrier branded under the former president’s name. It’s a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), piggybacking on the networks of AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Plans start at $47.45/month, in a nod to Donald Trump’s dual role as the 45th and 47th president. This “47 Plan” includes unlimited talk, text, and data, as well as quirky extras like telehealth access, 24/7 roadside assistance, and international calling to over 100 countries-all without contracts or credit checks.
But that’s not all. The company is also releasing an exclusive device: the Trump T1 Phone, set to arrive in gold (naturally) this August or September. Priced at $499, the T1 promises premium specs and proudly claims to be “designed and built in the United States.”
On paper, the specs sound decent: a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP main camera, 2MP depth and macro lenses, a 16MP selfie cam, 5,000mAh battery with 20W charging, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, Android 15, 12GB RAM, and 256GB of expandable storage. But there’s a big mystery-no chipset has been officially confirmed, which raises eyebrows considering the price tag.
The design and pitch bear an uncanny resemblance to past “patriotic” tech flops like the Freedom Phone. Critics are already skeptical, with some calling it a recycled low-end Chinese phone with a gold paint job and a MAGA stamp. That said, pre-orders for the T1 are open, and users can also join Trump Mobile using their existing phones. The brand promises 24/7 live U.S.-based support.
Whether Trump Mobile becomes a telecom revolution or another collector’s item in the museum of political vanity projects remains to be seen. But for now, it’s a reality-complete with glitz, slogans, and a dash of alt-reality nostalgia.
