Trump Might Be Building a Phone and Carrier – Yes, Seriously

Just when you thought Donald Trump had exhausted his list of branded ventures, the 47th President of the United States may be preparing to launch a mobile phone and a wireless carrier. No, this isn’t satire.

Recent trademark filings from DTTM Operations LLC – the longtime entity managing Trump’s brand trademarks – suggest an ambitious move into the mobile tech world with something reportedly dubbed the “Trump Phone” and a carrier named “T1.”

Filed on June 12, 2025, with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the applications cover everything from phones, cases, and chargers to retail stores and wireless services. That’s right – Trump Stores could be coming to a strip mall near you, selling Trump-branded smartphones and offering T1 calling plans.

Although the filings are on an “intent-to-use” basis – which means there’s no guarantee these products will ever hit the shelves – it does signal a genuine interest in expanding the Trump brand into the tech sector. And if past behavior is any indicator, Trump wouldn’t hesitate to promote this venture long before a single device is manufactured.

The timing is curious, especially given Trump’s contentious history with the tech industry, including his notorious jabs at companies like Apple and T-Mobile. Ironically, the name “T1” might make some consumers think of T-Mobile, even though there’s no connection.

Will this project get off the ground, or will it join the infamous pile of Trump-branded flops like Trump Vodka, Trump Steaks, and Trump University? Time will tell. For now, all we know is that the world might soon see a phone that tweets louder than its user.
