When Donald Trump Jr. and his brother Eric unveiled the Trump T1 Phone earlier this month, the Trump Mobile website proudly stated that the device would be manufactured in the U.S.
Given President Donald Trump’s push for Apple to make the iPhone in the U.S., it seemed fitting that the T1, bearing his name, would also be produced domestically. However, most industry experts were skeptical about the feasibility of manufacturing the T1 in the U.S. for the $499 price tag, as the only phone currently made in America is the Purism Liberty Phone, priced at $2,000 with significantly lower specifications.
Despite the challenges, even critics knew not to underestimate Trump when he sets his sights on a goal. However, it appears that Trump Mobile has recognized the difficulty of quickly bringing a fully American-made T1 to market. For context, the Liberty Phone took six years to go from concept to finished product. As a result, the Trump Mobile website no longer claims that the T1 is “Made in America,” instead using phrases like “brought to life right here in the USA” and “proudly American.”
Trump Mobile spokesperson Chris Walker insists that the T1 is still “proudly made in America,” dismissing speculation to the contrary. On June 16, when the T1 was first introduced, the Trump Organization described the device as a “sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States for customers who expect the best from their mobile carrier.”
The T1 is marketed as more than just a phone-it’s presented as a bold step toward wireless independence, designed with American values in mind. It boasts top-tier performance, sleek design, and powerful features without the hefty price tag typically associated with high-end smartphones. Here are the key specs of the Trump T1:
- A 6.25-inch AMOLED display with a center punch-hole selfie camera and a 120Hz refresh rate.
- 50MP rear-facing main camera with a 2MP Depth Sensor and 2MP Macro Lens.
- In-display fingerprint sensor and AI-based facial recognition.
- 12GB RAM, 256GB expandable storage, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
- A 5000mAh battery with 20W PD charging support.
- Android 15 pre-installed.
You can pre-order the Trump T1 by visiting the Trump Mobile site, paying a $100 deposit, with the remaining $399 due when the phone ships. You must also pay for the first month of Trump Mobile service upfront, although you can use your current phone until the T1 arrives.
The website now describes the T1 as “brought to life right here in the USA,” emphasizing the care, precision, and quality of the device, regardless of where it’s made. No matter the manufacturing details, Trump’s loyal supporters seem eager to get their hands on the phone, as pre-orders continue to roll in.
